Scientific Publications and Journals Office Advisory Board Meeting Held

On December 19, 2024, the Advisory Board of our University’s Scientific Publications and Journals Office—established to promote the University’s journals, to conduct evaluations with editors concerning work processes and journal statuses, to enhance the visibility and impact of scientific publications and academic publishing, and to facilitate the inclusion of our journals in national and international indexes—convened under the chairmanship of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali SÜLÜN.

During the meeting, Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Nilay ÖZSAVAŞ ULUÇAY presented both ongoing and planned Office activities. In addition, detailed information was provided regarding the annual activities of our journals, indexing processes and reports, and the current index status. These efforts aim to expand the national and international visibility of our University’s journals, to consolidate all journals under an institutional framework, and to exchange views and suggestions regarding ongoing processes.

Subsequently, the TR Index criteria were thoroughly reviewed, supported by examples from existing reports. To further elevate the visibility of our journals on international platforms, the evaluation criteria of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Elsevier SCOPUS were discussed, followed by an overview of the Web of Science ESCI, SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI criteria and their respective subject areas. Additionally, detailed information was provided on indexing procedures and application stages.
